Alternatives for travelling to Chile

As you will most likely have read there are fees that come in the form of "Reciprocity" taxes which usually results in over one hundred dollars being deducted.

For those travelling solo it may be worth the pain for the convenience of straight entry into the country but for those travelling in large groups (e.g a family of 5) it can really start to rack up costs. So the question from there is how can you make the entry a little more affordable?

One way is to travel into Argentina and take a bus over to Chile as you should be able to find transport that will be much cheaper than paying the fares and you'll get to do a bit of sightseeing along the way.

Though certain airports in Argentina have realised this and have also included the fee so be sure to look out for that.
